Everything sparkles in India! by our fashion correspondent.

I did not think it would be so different from what I imagined because things at home are quite dull by comparison.  The bags and flip-flops are so pretty. The flip-flops are the same sort of thing as at home but they are so colourful and have been decorated with sparkles. So have the bangles and bags. The saris that the women ware have beautiful patterns and they look fantastic in them.  Lots of bright reds, pinks, sunshine yellows, oranges & sky blues. Even the little girls wear great costumes & jewellery too.  Most have their ears pierced with big gold earrings and wear lots & lots of bangles on their wrists.  I would love to get a sari & have my ears pierced & wear big gold earrings too.

    Hello Ellie,
I love your detailed description (tell your Dad to take some photos of this), it probably makes a certain wedding you attended seem bland by comparison. Would love to read another mini blog about food and culture (people and attitudes) too.
    We all send our love,
    Your eager readers XXX

Well Beautiful Jazz we expect to see Burnside sparkling from now on after your return.
I am sure you would look quite beautiful in a Sari and would make quite an impression on the locals.
As for ear piercing…. well the jury is out on this one as I still count your parents as friends I believe we will leave that custom to India and to the highland cows…. ;) Hope you are making wonderful memories I can not wait to hear them on your return
    Much Love

    Hi Jazz,
Apologies for confusing the identity of the Fashion Correspondent. Vancouver has a really large Indian population and at least two “little India’s,” have you noticed how much better all this colourful clothing looks in India? Can you imagine the same stuff in, say….the CoOp in Aberfeldy? You’re in the perfect setting to see it and we look forward to seeing some photos.
    Love to all of you,
    XXXXX
